Frequently Asked Questions

How do you measure body composition, cholesterol and blood sugar during a Health Screening?

Our nurses will perform a quick finger poke to collect a small amount of blood for cholesterol and blood sugar testing.

Body composition is measured using a bioelectrical impedance device that is handheld or stood upon, depending on the type of testing chosen. People who have pacemakers, defibrillators or are pregnant are not able to receive this type of testing.

Does an employer have the right to see an employee’s identifiable health information if they pay for their screening or flu shot?

No. Regardless of who sponsors or pays for a service, health information that is identifiable to an individual cannot be shared with an employer without permission or unless required by law.

Can an employer base wellness rewards on an employee’s screening results?

No. An employer can only award wellness incentives based on completing a requirement or participating in an event.

Can someone receive a flu shot if they are uninsured or you don’t accept their health insurance?

Yes, they can pay out of pocket for their flu vaccine. We will record the payment on their form copy, which they may be able to use to request a reimbursement from their insurance carrier if they choose.

Do you have options for remote employees or employees that can’t attend an onsite clinic to participate in our wellness event?

Employers can choose to allow offsite employees to submit information from a recent visit to their primary care physician, or have testing done through one of WPVs nationwide lab collection partner sites.

What reports do employers receive after a wellness event is completed?

Employers will receive a participant list to track program participation or when necessary for billing purposes.

Participant names will not be provided for programs that require specific health criteria to qualify (e.g., CardioCare).
